Enhancement and Stabilization of Production-Critical Applications for the Airbus Kit Factory
CEVA Logistics · Aviation Sector | Client: Airbus
Initial situation
Production-critical applications and dashboards supported daily production and logistics work at the Airbus Kit Factory by providing tasks, priorities, deadlines, and operational performance data.
The application landscape combined SAP-based data extraction with C#/.NET processing, database storage, and dashboard presentation. Changes in source data and operational requirements required reliable, timely adjustments.
Solution
Continuous enhancement and stabilization of the C#/.NET application and dashboard environment, with a focus on reliable data processing, monitoring, traceability, and continuity of operations.
My contribution
Maintained, stabilized, and enhanced production-critical C#/.NET applications and dashboards used by production and logistics teams.
Developed and troubleshot SAP-based data extraction and processing of operational delivery and performance data.
Investigated issues across application processing, data storage, and dashboard presentation.
Improved application and file-processing logic to reduce delays, prevent access conflicts, and increase reliability.
Strengthened monitoring and traceability through Hangfire background processing and Serilog-based structured logging.
Maintained the SQLite data layer and supported JSON-based visualization with Vue.js.
Documented application dependencies and collaborated with operational teams and Airbus contacts on changes, troubleshooting, and production support.
Excel Decommissioning and Redevelopment of the Ready-for-Kitting Application
CEVA Logistics · Aviation Sector | Client: Airbus
Initial situation
Several production processes at the Airbus Kit Factory relied on an Excel-based process layer connected to SAP and existing operational applications. Its planned decommissioning required careful analysis of dependencies, business logic, and operational requirements.
Working with the team, I helped define the migration approach. Ready for Kitting was identified as a production-critical function that required redevelopment to preserve continuity of operations.
Solution
Analysis and migration planning for Excel-dependent processes, followed by end-to-end redevelopment of Ready for Kitting as a maintainable C#/.NET desktop application.
My contribution
Analyzed legacy applications, Excel-based workflows, scripts, SAP integration, and technical dependencies.
Collaborated with the team on migration planning and documented existing calculation rules and process dependencies.
Reconstructed the Ready-for-Kitting workflow, preserving essential business logic, process accuracy, and familiar user interactions.
Designed and implemented the replacement application end to end, including SAP GUI automation and generation of production-relevant component lists.
Developed an integrated HTML/CSS display, integrated a dedicated printing library, and implemented PDF generation.
Redevelopment of Customs Management Software and Development of a Knowledge Base REST API
Developed at Porath Customs Agents, Hamburg (acquired by Customs Support)
Overview
Analysis and complete redevelopment of an internal customs and business-management application for customer data, customs processes, and statistical reporting. Business workflows and requirements were reconstructed from the legacy application in close collaboration with users.
My contribution
Analyzed the legacy application, reconstructed its business rules, and validated requirements directly with users.
Designed and completely redeveloped the Windows application with VB.NET, DevExpress, and SQL Server.
Implemented user interfaces, business logic, reusable libraries, and a multi-level roles and permissions model.
Designed and optimized the SQL Server database and its data-access functionality.
Developed a REST API secured with access tokens using C# and ASP.NET Core 2 for controlled integration with an external web application.
Created XML reporting tools for Intrastat submissions and maintained related internal applications.
Redevelopment and Modernization of the PressePlus E-Commerce Portal
Developed at Skill Networks for PressePlus, Hamburg
Initial situation
An existing JavaScript-based portal for selling and managing magazine subscriptions was analyzed and gradually migrated into a structured ASP.NET MVC application. Its business functionality was reconstructed from the existing object-oriented JavaScript code and reimplemented within a modern full-stack architecture.
My contribution
Analyzed the object-oriented JavaScript legacy code, reconstructed its business logic, and migrated functionality into a structured ASP.NET MVC architecture.
Delivered full-stack functionality with C#, Razor, JavaScript, Entity Framework, and SQL Server.
Integrated two SQL Server databases and an Azure web service, and implemented session management and dependency injection.
Integrated a payment-provider API for PayPal, credit cards, and bank payment methods and coordinated technical troubleshooting with the provider.
Implemented responsive, search-engine-friendly interfaces and continuously enhanced the portal through project completion.
Provided technical guidance to a junior developer and coordinated shared development tasks.
